Hydrogen Sweden is a Public Private Partnership with members and financiers from industry, NGO's and local, regional and national government. The PPP was founded in January 2007 and promotes a balanced and pragmatic approach to hydrogen. Hydrogen Sweden is non-profit and includes circa 50 members at the moment. Hydrogen Sweden's mission is to facilitate the introduction of hydrogen as an energy carrier in Sweden. To do so we initiate demonstration projects, disseminate information and strengthen the collaboration between actors from various fields with a joint interest in hydrogen. The organization has, or has had, an active role in some EU-funded projects recently; H2Move Scandinavia, Next Move, HIT and HyTrEc.
H2moves Scandinavia (2010-2012) was a Joint Technology Initiative (FCH JU) on Hydrogen & Fuel Cells. The project objective was to gain customer acceptance for the FCEV and hydrogen infrastructure and prepare for the mass market roll-out. Hydrogen Sweden has been responsible for the dissemination and the European Hydrogen Road Tour which was carried out within the project.
Hydrogen Sweden is lead partner in Next Move, an Interreg IVA-funded project that facilitates cooperation between public bodies in the southwest Scandinavian area. The objective is to meet strategic challenges like purchasing and service, for municipalities and regions who wants to become early users of FCEV.
The HyTrEc-project is an interesting cooperation and network for us to further strengthen the regional and local work that happens in the south west Sweden. One example is that hydrogen Sweden assist in developing hydrogen strategies on local and regional scale and though HyTrEc those will both contribute to and receive input from the work done in the North Sea Region.
